About Us
The senior principal of Eclectic Consulting is Steve Bootman, an expat living and working in South America for over thirteen years, more than seven of those in Cochabamba Bolivia where he is a legal resident. Steve has a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from the USA and was previously a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas. Most of his 35+ year career is in communications electronics. This experience was mostly in the Dallas Texas area. There he worked for telecommunications equipment manufacturers in systems engineering for transmission and switching equipment. He represented multiple companies in their international communications standards efforts around the world. He is fluent in English (mother tongue), Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.
Steve is a recognized Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers (IEEE) where he is a published author and previously an officer of the IEEE Communications Society in Dallas. He is also a member of the National Fire Protection Association, publisher of the National Electric Code; the bible of electrical construction standards and protection against the threats of lightning.
However, Eclectic Consulting is much broader than the senior principal. Our employees and affiliates in Cochabamba are all university trained and collectively have a broad experience base. If you have a commercial / legal question or technical need that we do not directly have experience in, we know where to find the answer in our circle of contacts.
Company history
Eclectic Consulting-Cochabamba started in 2007. However, our experience of several persons goes back decades. Decades involved in living and working in Latin America. Decades of experience in electronics & electrical systems. Decades of experience as bi-lingual experts in Spanish and English and even Portuguese. Decades of established commerce in Bolivia.
